Each Seawashed Fleece Short in the Isle-Red run begins with heavyweight cotton fleece hand-dyed on Nantucket using natural red madder root. The dye settles unevenly into the fabric, producing earthy reds, muted coral tones, and soft tonal variation that reflects light differently across the surface. The result is depth without shine—color that wears in, not out.
From there, every pair enters the COATUE-WASH SeaWash cycle: sealed inside an oyster bag and submerged in Nantucket’s tidal water for twenty-eight days and twenty-eight nights, following the Harvest Moon. Salt, current, and sun soften the fleece and introduce organic surface movement—subtle shifts shaped by water, time, and tide. No two pairs emerge exactly alike.
The fit is relaxed and easy, designed for warm days on the water and cool evenings back on shore. Finished with an elastic waistband and cotton drawcord for comfort without restriction, side entry pockets, and a single rear patch pocket.
Made from 450 GSM California-milled cotton fleece, pre-shrunk and silicone-free so the fabric ages honestly and develops a lived-in, seaworn hand. Washer and dryer friendly.
